General Description of the Service
The Volksbildungswerk has been offering a wide range of educational and cultural activities in the Klarenthal district (and partly in Dotzheim) since 1970. Our offerings include general further education, lifelong and informal learning, as well as district-related social and cultural work tailored to the needs of the local population. In addition to classic courses and educational trips, we also promote initiatives in facilities such as senior citizen residences, community centers, schools and reading cafés. The focus is on topics such as integration, participation, volunteering and social challenges such as poverty and demographic change. Our offers are aimed at all people and actively contribute to the positive development of the district in Wiesbaden.
Explanations on the Implementation of the Service
Through our facility in Klarenthal and in cooperation with local partners, we organize around 320 events every year – including courses, educational trips, concerts, exhibitions and other educational events. These take place on site at various locations in the district as well as in cooperation with schools, senior citizen homes and other social facilities. Interested parties can register for the offers via our website and directly on site and receive comprehensive advice. In addition, we moderate network events such as the district conference and actively participate in collaborations (e.g. with the housing industry and the umbrella organization Kulturtage Klarenthal) to promote exchange and networking in the district. Our services are financed through public and private funding, donations, fees and membership fees.
