Fitmacherclub – Reliable After-School Care for Primary School Children
The Fitmacherclub (FMC) offers loving and reliable afternoon care for children from primary schools in Klarenthal and Kohlheck. The focus is on the educational design of the school afternoon, where children are cared for in fixed groups. The time at the FMC is structured, providing children with stability while still allowing enough freedom.
We also take care of the children’s meals: We place special emphasis on a healthy and varied diet that gives the children energy for the afternoon.
Here, the children experience a varied afternoon in a safe environment where they can play, learn, develop, and have a quiet space to do their homework. In addition to promoting academic and social skills, the sense of community is also strengthened by the children making new experiences together and making friends. The FMC supports families in Klarenthal and Kohlheck by offering children individual care.
Our Concept
The Fitmacherclub Klarenthal accompanies 180 primary school-age children daily at the Geschwister-Scholl Primary School. The children are cared for in 6 groups by a team of 12 trained, pedagogical specialists. In Pavilion D of the Geschwister-Scholl-Grundschule, there are specially equipped group rooms available: the feel-good oasis, the construction, creative and playroom, a climbing wall, and much more. In addition, classrooms, the computer room, the workshop, the sports hall and the adjacent outdoor area are used. Special consideration is given to the nature and action areas in the district.
OUR MOTTO: A good deed for the future every day.
- Lunch: We organize a communal lunch, which is freshly prepared.
- Homework supervision: We organize homework supervision in fixed groups (1:45 PM – 2:45 PM), good cooperation with the learning coaches of the Chameleon Project, as well as various afternoon activity groups (2:45 PM – 4:15 PM).
- Late care: Late care is also possible (4:15 PM – 5:00 PM daily).
- Holiday program: In addition to care during school time, there is a thematic nine-week holiday program in cooperation with the state capital Wiesbaden. As part of the Volksbildungswerk Klarenthal, we value professionally sound care work and diverse support opportunities. Through networking in the district, children become familiar with their neighborhood.
Parents are encouraged to participate through a parents‘ council, additional family and parent education programs. There are regular parent lectures, festivals and meetings, and theater performances offered in cooperation with the KiEZ Klarenthal. As a Wiesbaden pilot location, we evaluate the project and are constantly developing.
