Parent-Child Center

KiEZ

Klarenthal Parent-Child Center – Local Support for Families

The Klarenthal Parent-Child Center (KiEZ) is a low-threshold point of contact for families in the district. It offers parents the opportunity to participate in open activities such as baby meetups, parent cafés, or other groups. While these open meetings can be attended without registration, additional course offerings are aimed at parents seeking specific support or exchange. At the KiEZ, Julia Zenker is available as the KiEZ coordinator and a permanent contact person for parents. She coordinates the diverse offerings, provides individual consultations, and promotes networking among families in the district. The goal is to strengthen parents in their parental responsibilities and to specifically support the educational and developmental processes of the children. The KiEZ Klarenthal works closely with institutions and networks in the district to utilize existing resources and develop needs-based offerings. This way, we create a space for encounter, support, and shared learning that is open to families in all life situations.

KiEZ Counseling

KiEZ counseling takes place every Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and by individual appointment. During this consultation time, all parents have the opportunity to receive support in a wide range of family topics: parental education offers, support with authorities/forms, daycare registration, life in the district, vacation passes, events, parent groups, referral to further counseling and language courses, and much more.

Father’s Activities

Being Active Together

Our father’s activities are aimed at all fathers who want to spend time with their children, experience new things, and exchange ideas with other fathers. Whether it’s creative activities, joint excursions, or open discussion rounds – we create opportunities for fathers and children to grow together and strengthen their relationship with each other.

The offerings provide fathers with a space to actively spend time with their children and exchange ideas with other fathers about parenting issues or everyday challenges. At the same time, we promote shared experiences and the bond between father and child through diverse activities.

Baby Café

Meeting Point for Parents and Their Babies

The Baby Café is an open offering for parents with babies who want to spend time in a relaxed atmosphere, exchange ideas, and make new contacts. Here you can ask questions, share experiences, and receive tips about the first years of your child’s life. The Baby Café offers a cozy environment where parents can network with each other while the little ones play safely and explore the world. The meeting is accompanied by an experienced contact person who provides helpful information and support when needed. No registration is required – just come by and enjoy the time in pleasant company. We look forward to seeing you and your baby!

PEKiP

The PEKiP course accompanies parents in the first year of their baby’s life. Babies playfully discover the world and have first contact with other children of the same age. The parent-child relationship is also strengthened through numerous play and movement suggestions. After the play phase, there is time for conversations over a cup of tea. The PEKiP course always takes place on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

School Parent Café

Accompanying School Life Together

The School Parent Café offers parents of school children the opportunity to meet regularly in a relaxed atmosphere. Here, questions about school life can be discussed, experiences exchanged, and helpful tips shared. The focus is on open dialogue between parents and support with parenting and educational issues.

The School Parent Café is accompanied by a KiEZ coordinator who is available as a contact person and provides information on school and family-related topics. Additionally, experts can be invited to discuss specific concerns such as learning support, the transition to secondary schools, or dealing with challenges in everyday school life.

The School Parent Café creates a valuable connection between parents and school, strengthens the community, and offers support during an important phase of children’s lives. We cordially invite you to come by and actively participate in the exchange.

Parent Café

Every Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, our KiEZ parent café takes place. In addition to exchanging ideas with other parents and various themed cafés guided by course instructor Lisa Buschhoff, regular information events are held on topics such as media consumption, puberty, sibling conflicts, healthy nutrition, relaxation exercises, clever budgeting, etc.

Conversation Café

Living Language Together

The Conversation Café is an open opportunity for people who want to improve their German skills in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It offers the chance to speak casually, learn new vocabulary, and better understand cultural differences.

The Conversation Café is aimed at people with different language levels and enables exchanges on everyday topics, current events, or personal experiences. The café is guided by an experienced facilitator who helps with questions and moderates the conversation.

No registration is required – just come by, practice the language, and enjoy the company of other participants. We look forward to seeing you!

Family and Neighborhood (FUN)

Growing and Strengthening Together

„Family and Neighborhood (FUN)“ is a program supported by the Parent Education Department of the Wiesbaden Office for Social Work. Six to eight families can participate per session – and all family members are warmly welcome. FUN strengthens parents in their role as educators and helps to playfully improve communication within the family. The goal is to promote self-confidence, reduce family stress, and strengthen family cohesion. At the same time, FUN offers the opportunity to make new contacts in the neighborhood and network in a supportive community. The program combines creative activities such as playing and crafting with discussion groups for parents, while the children are lovingly cared for. Participation is free of charge, ensuring that every family has the chance to be involved and benefit from the offerings. Additional Links
